Stripe Connect direct deposit
Funds flow from the Resident's payment hold straight to your bank account through Stripe Connect - the same payment infrastructure used by Lyft, DoorDash, and Shopify.
Fast first payout
First payout typically within 7 days of your first completed job. After Stripe completes its standard new-account review, subsequent payouts typically arrive within 2 business days.
1099-K issued at year-end
Stripe issues your IRS Form 1099-K for tax reporting if you cross the applicable federal threshold. You operate as an independent contractor - not an employee.
Payment-hold protection
The Resident's payment sits on hold until they approve completed work. Once approved, funds are released to you. The hold protects both sides - you against non-payment, them against incomplete work.

Resident pays via Stripe at booking. The amount is held - not yet charged to you or them.

You complete the job
You arrive, perform the service, and digitally sign off through the Hero app.

Resident reviews the completed work and approves. The payment hold is released.

Funds released to Stripe
Your share of the payment (after platform commission) moves into your Stripe Connect account.

Stripe transfers the funds to your linked bank account - typically within 2 business days after release.
Payout FAQ
What if the Resident doesn't approve the work?
If a Resident disputes the work, the funds remain on hold and our dispute team reviews. HALOFIX USA-backed dispute resolution protects both sides - Heroes are not left chasing payment, and Residents are not left with unsatisfactory work.
Are there payout fees?
HALOFIX USA does not charge a per-payout fee. Stripe's standard processing fees apply to the underlying payment transaction; the platform commission (tier-based) is taken before payout.
When do I get my 1099-K?
If your earnings cross the IRS federal threshold for the tax year, Stripe issues your Form 1099-K by January 31 of the following year. Heroes operate as independent contractors, not employees (W-2).
Can I track my earnings in real time?
Yes. The Hero dashboard shows pending payments, released payouts, and historical earnings. You can also see Stripe payout status directly in the Stripe dashboard linked to your account.
