How HALOFIX Protects You
Letting a stranger into your home takes trust. We earn it with a multi-step vetting pipeline, Hero profile review, and a warranty vault that protects every job.
Book a Vetted Hero →Why Most Homeowners Worry
According to the FTC, home repair fraud costs American Residents billions every year. Unlicensed workers, fake insurance, inflated invoices, and disappearing strangers are painfully common.
HALOFIX was built to end that cycle. Every Hero on our platform goes through the same multi-step vetting process before platform activation. Your safety is not a feature. It's the foundation.
4 Pillars That Protect You
Pillar #5
Safety First - Hero Profile
Every HALOFIX Hero's insurance is verified and on file, and required Florida trade licenses or federal certifications are checked for every service that has one. Each Hero profile shows available credential status before arrival, coverage expiration is checked at onboarding, and safety-review consent and requested information are collected where applicable.
Compliance: FCRA #42, FL Statute 489
Pillar #6
Reviewed Heroes
Multi-step onboarding includes applicable license or credential review, insurance coverage and expiration checks, safety-review intake, skills assessment, and an approval decision before activation.
Compliance: DBPR Verification, FCRA #42
Pillar #7
Platform-Backed Warranty
Every job includes a minimum 90-day workmanship warranty. Resolution support capped by membership tier.
Compliance: Magnuson-Moss #26, UCC Implied Warranty
Pillar #16
Digital Warranty Vault
All your warranties, invoices, and service records stored securely in your digital vault for 7 years - the maximum retention period under Florida and IRS requirements.
Compliance: Record Retention #55
Multi-Step Vetting Pipeline
Every Hero must complete the required review steps before they can accept jobs through HALOFIX.
Application Review
Every Hero application is reviewed for completeness: required trade credentials where applicable, service area, and contact verification via phone OTP.
Timeline: InstantCredential Verification
We verify DBPR licenses for regulated trades and EPA Section 608 credentials for refrigerant sealed-system work. Expired, suspended, or invalid required credentials are rejected.
Timeline: 1-2 business daysInsurance Verification
Every HALOFIX Hero's insurance is verified and on file, and required Florida trade licenses or federal certifications are checked for every service that has one. We verify the insurer, policy number, coverage amount, and expiration date. Expiration dates are monitored daily. A Hero is alerted by email and dashboard notification before a policy expires. If a policy lapses, the Hero stops receiving new job offers until a current certificate is uploaded and reviewed. The account is not suspended and work already assigned to that Hero is unaffected. This dispatch hold does not apply to appliance repair.
Timeline: 1-2 business daysHero-Provided Report (Optional)
HALOFIX does not run criminal background checks and does not search public records or registries. A Hero who has already obtained a report about themselves - a consumer report from a consumer reporting agency, or a state record such as a Florida FDLE criminal history record - may choose to send it to us. If they do, a reviewer reads it and their profile shows that a report is on file. This step is optional and is not required for approval.
Timeline: Optional - 1-2 business days when providedFinal Approval & Activation
Only after the required credential, insurance, and payout-setup checks pass does a Hero profile become eligible for platform activation. Approved Heroes appear in our dispatch system and can start accepting jobs.
Timeline: Same day after checks clearHero Profile Before Arrival
Before your Hero arrives, you receive their Hero profile directly in the HALOFIX app. This profile includes their name, photo, trade specialization, available credential status, and trust score.
When the Hero arrives, you can match their face to the photo on your screen. The profile shows available verification status - confirming required credentials are reviewed, insurance is current, and whether a Hero-provided report is on file.

Trust Profile Score
Every Hero earns a trust score out of 100 points. Higher scores mean stronger credentials, more experience, and better reviews. Each category is scored from a record HALOFIX actually holds - listed beside it below. A category we cannot measure yet is left out of the score instead of being counted as zero, so a brand-new Hero is never marked down for a rating they have not had the chance to earn.

Digital Warranty Vault
Every completed job generates a digital warranty certificate stored securely in your Warranty Vault - accessible from your HALOFIX dashboard for 7 years. Never lose a receipt, invoice, or warranty document again.
Your standard workmanship warranty covers 90 days of labor on all completed work. Any longer coverage is offered and honored directly by your assigned Hero.
How to File a Warranty Claim
Submit a Warranty Claim
Contact HALOFIX support from your dashboard and identify the completed job, issue, and any photos or documents available. When in-dashboard Warranty Vault claim submission is available, use that route to submit the same information directly.
Claim Review
Our support team reviews the claim, verifies whether the issue is within the Hero workmanship warranty, and confirms next steps. Timing depends on job complexity, documentation, and Hero response.
Hero Mediation
HALOFIX contacts the original Hero to resolve the issue under their warranty. If the Hero is unresponsive or refuses, HALOFIX can help route a replacement inspection request.
Resolution
If the original Hero resolves the issue, it is documented in your Vault. If not, HALOFIX provides resolution support up to your membership cap (Free: $500, Premium: $1,000). Beyond the cap, we assist with DBPR complaints and insurance claims.
All warranties offered through HALOFIX are provided in compliance with the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. §§ 2301–2312). Written warranty terms are available in plain language before purchase. Implied warranties under the Uniform Commercial Code are not disclaimed. Resolution support caps represent the maximum HALOFIX platform contribution toward warranty claim remediation and do not limit the Hero's own warranty obligations.
FCRA Compliance
If HALOFIX obtains a consumer report from a consumer-reporting agency, the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) applies. Heroes are informed of and authorize the report before it begins, and any adverse action follows the required pre-adverse and adverse action notice procedures.
Your Safety Is Not a Feature. It's the Foundation.
Every Hero on HALOFIX has completed multi-step vetting. Book with confidence.
